This procedure is written for Frasca models 13x equipped with GISt It is assumed that NAV l (HSI) OBS has been properly calibrated at the Servo board. Perform each step in sequence to ensure proper calibration of the KI202 for use in this flight training device.
Press [CTRL] + [F1] to enter the menu. Make sure that the following values are set:
Calibrate the VSI by adjusting a trim potentiometer on the back of the instrument. The VSI indication should agree with the value shown on the Instructor Monitor within 100 FPM.
The Turn & Slip indicator is two meter-movement instruments in one. Calibrate each indicator by adjusting a trim potentiometer.
The pilot actuates the Model 135 throttle control with a twist grip on the end of the collective lever. The potentiometer is inside the throttle grip. Adjust at the control by inserting a small flat blade screwdriver into the end of the throttle grip plug.
Adjust the rudder pedals (Model 135 anti-torque pedals) potentiometer by loosening the setscrew on the pivot arm and rotating the potentiometer shaft at its position on the rudder pedal assembly.
Phase comparator circuitry calibration affects the directional gyro and the NAV 1 (standard indicator or HSI) and NAV 2 omnibearing selector (OBS) calibration.
Calibrate the NAV 1 and 2 OBS at the instrument after calibrating the phase comparator circuitry. The OBS indication on the instructor’s station monitor should agree with the instrument setting within 3 degrees.
